Happy Friday everyone,
I thought I would kick off the weekend with getting my pictures of grade 1A up and loaded so that you can have the weekend to look through it with your child.
We had a super busy week even though we had an unexpected holiday mid week.
For Language Arts, we have begun with our "How to" writing. We began our week with talking about short vowel sounds, and then learned how to make Tang. We have had lots of fun reading different books and listening to the "Kipper" books!
For Math, we have been learning and reviewing numbers, grouping numbers, and estimating as well as single digit addition.
For Science, we have been discussing the differences between non living and living things. We've also discovered that we can divide living things into two different branches - Plants and living things and we had lots of fun discussing and writing about the similarities and difference between plants and animals.
In Social Studies, we have been discussing Maps and how we read maps- this of course is in preparation for our big treasure hunt we will be having in the next month. Here are a few pictures from this week.
